The Netherlands Infrastructure Ministry announced the introduction of 15-cent(€) deposit on drink cans ,starting in 2023 and aimed to reduce the number of discarded cans. Manufacturers and supermarkets have two years to implement a process for can returns and payment of the deposit. It is estimated ~150M cans are discarded each year.
