Showing the most popular hops during the last five years with one constant element being the dominance of the Pacific Northwest region. Looking at varieties, the report identifies the following most popular ones: (1) Citra, (2) CTZ, (3) Mosaic, (4) Simcoe, and (5) Cascade, with a newcomer, El Dorado, holding the 10th place. The report also shows that plantings have shifted from 50% alpha bitter hops in 2012 to nearly 78% aroma hops in 2020 which reflects the popularity of aroma hops across a growing range of interesting craft beers.
