The Craft Maltsters Guild (US) is hosting Malt for Brewers Workshop in partnership with
the Barley, Malt and Brewing Quality Lab of Montana State University (MSU), on August
9-10, 2021. The workshop will be held at the Plant Bioscience Building on MSU’s
campus and will include hands on lab activities, tours of MSU malt quality lab and
breeding flied plots, tour of a local malt house. Topics covered by the workshop are:
barley breeding and the North American supply chain, aspects of measuring barley and
malt quality, a review of the malting process and technology, malt styles, flavor and
troubleshooting.
