Craft brewers in South Africa are on the brink of collapse due to the alcohol ban, warned the South Africa’s industry body. The alcohol ban was introduced as part of new lockdown measures due to the emergence of a new Covid-19 strain late in 2020. The previous two alcohol bans lasting more than three months combined, costed the South African beer industry an estimated 7,400 jobs and R14.2B in revenue.
