Soufflet Malt introduced blockchain technology to connect various stakeholders across the barley supply chain, from the field to the consumers with full traceability of the malt in the finished beer. The technology platform is provided by Transparency and captures the various steps in the beer making process and which is accessible via a QR code printed on bottles & cans. Each stage in the supply chain (agricultural, malting, brewery) is incorporated into the respective QR code which consumers can scan to discover the beer’s supply chain history. The application offers a wide range of interactive maps for silos, maltings, and breweries, along with information on the hops utilized.
