Scotland’s craft breweries take cost management lessons from the pandemic

Experts from Dundee’s School of Business and Edinburgh Napier University have carried out extensive research into the experiences of independent brewers during Covid-19 sudden closure of pubs and restaurants. Besides the numerous hardships to overcome, the researchers found that the pandemic created new opportunities such as home deliveries via on-line sales, strengthening connections with local communities and collaboration between breweries. These efforts help grow the top-line while also bringing costs down.
