New Beast barley variety

First results from the first commercial plantings of Australian Grain Technologies new barley variety “Beast” are confirming value for growers facing the challenging Australian environment. The planting took place near Perth, in soil conditions of sand over gravel and 300m of rainfall per year. The crop was harvested at the end of October with a yield at 4.88 tons/Ha. According to the company, the barley variety was bred as a high yielding option for growers in low to medium rainfall conditions.
