Massachusetts lawmakers voted in December to allow breweries producing less than 250,000 bbls of beer per year (~300,000 hL) to terminate the relationship with their distributor at any time with 30 days’ notice. There are more than 200 breweries across the state that fit under the volume threshold indicated by the law, and therefore which will benefit from this increased flexibility in choosing their distributors.
