Irish farmers are being asked to plant wheat, barley, and other grains as part of the new food security plans put together by the Irish government. This is a response to the Ukrainian war and the fact that Ireland imports 60% of the grain consumed. The initiative is driven by the Agriculture Ministry via an emergency response team.
