Working from home has become increasingly entrenched by employees following the extended pandemic restrictions. As a consequence, companies are announcing total or partial working from home policies to extend ‘work from home’ even as restrictions are lifted. Recently big companies like KPMG, PWC, and EY have made publicly commitments to a hybrid work model, while Deloitte UK announced permanent flexible working policies. The European Commission expects a reduction by 50% of the number of buildings in use by 2030, mainly through the embracing of wider ‘working from home’ approaches. Staying a home reduces CO2 emissions as a great number of commuters are eliminated from the daily routine.
