Heineken accused of misleading consumers on Tecate brewing location

In a class action, Heineken is accused by consumers of misleading them into believing that Tecate beer is made in Mexico,
through “the brand name, the traditional Meso-American typeface, the mystical Aztec eagle emblazoned on the product and the statements ‘Original’ and ‘Cerveza’ on the labelling”, while the beer is produced in Holland. Similar
claims are made in regard to the brand’s website which states “Hecha En tecata Baja California Mexico” and “Born and brewed in the land we are proud to share our name with: Tecate”.
