A hailstorm on Boxing Day (Dec 26th) appears to have destroyed up to half of the hop crop in Motueka (New Zealand). According to farmers in the region, this was the worst hailstorm ever seen, which resulting in over 100mm of hail
on the ground. For the hop harvest expected in March, several farms will be lucky to harvest 50% of expected crop.
