During a gathering of newly licensed entrepreneurs, organized by Illinois Independent Craft Growers Association (Cannabis), craft growers were advised to focus upon specialization, unique & niche products, and establishing strong partnerships. In this way, these new business owners will be able to compete with established businesses in the industry. Specialized products include those marketed for specific desires such as relaxation, mood elevation, pain relief or fast-acting edibles. Other advices were to go beyond the popular CBD (cannabidiol) to products like CBG (cannabigerol) and CBN (cannabinol), which are purported to have anti-anxiety and cell-protecting antioxidant properties.
