A French shipping company, a multinational aerospace corporation, and a French technology company are planning to test the concept of an enormous kite to help tow a cargo ship across the Atlantic Ocean. By using a kite, the expectation is to significantly reduce fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. The kite manufacturer is called Airseas and was founded by engineers who formerly worked for Airbus.
