Bairds Malt has launched a new product: Malt 2.0 to showcase the development of malt produced using new barley varieties introduced to the UK through the Early Evaluation Programme. This is a trial programme through the company and their merchanting partner (Scotgrain Agriculture) to identify and introduce new barley varieties, for the UK market. At the heart of Malt 2.0 is the KWS Sassy variety, a bold barley variety, particularly well-suited to the variable growing conditions in the Scottish climate while providing a consistently higher yield to its growers.
