Heineken continues consolidation

Heineken announced their taking control of United Breweries Limited (UBL), with an ownership share increase to 61.5% (from 46.5%) and includes changes to allow the nomination of a new chairman. The share was originally 37.5% in 2008 at the time of the Scottish & Newcastle brewery.

AB InBev gives away free beer on the 4th of July.

AB InBev promised to give Americans free beer if the White House hits its goal of vaccinating 70% of US adults against Covid-19 by the Independence Day Holiday, on July 4th. Even though the goal fell short, the beer company is keeping the promise and delivered free beer.

Diageo first liquor sponsor for NFL.

Diageo broke another ad barrier of the National Football League (NFL) by becoming first-ever spirits sponsor. The multiyear deal gives Diageo the right to use NFL trademarks in national TV ads, digital marketing and activations at games.

Molson Coors donation to Sherman Phoenix Foundation.

Molson Coors donated $50,000 to Sherman Phoenix Foundation in the form of a grant intended to support the efforts to foster economic equality and empowerment for leaders of colour. Programmes include technical assistance for 25+ small business tenants, wellness programming, educational offerings as well as arts and cultural events.
